I just noticed this thread and it looks like there have been some really useful answers already.
I am a speech and language therapist and I also used to work for The Communication Trust – a not for profit organisation that provides free resources to support kids with speech and language needs. TCT produced a video and accompanying materials with tips on how to have those initial (potentially difficult) conversations with parents. I think it’s around 30 minutes and completely free, and although it is focused on SLCN I’m sure a lot of the tips are transferable.
