I ahve 170 children on my register. Most of the children I keeo tabs on with passing cnversations with teachers and parents in the course of the year – I find these can be incredibly effective- short and information loaded. I put summaries of these on a whole class document and keep updating. Teachers then refre to this during PTMs.
Action Plans are prepared by the class teacher (who teaches English and/or Maths). We refer to behaviour as social skills/self regulation. The AP draft is shared with the parent in a meeing with myself and the class teacher. The parent can propose changes at this handoover meeting. From then onwards, it is the class teacher that re discusses the effectiveness of the AP duirng PTMs. .
Teachrs can decide wiht e that a child no longer needs to be on the register.
Of course, we are a PRIVATE school and we have entrance exams that are highly selective. This means that the children on our list are not eligible for funding- so any additonal support we put in is with our existing resources. which thereforehave to be shared equally across all chidlren regardless of additonal need.
Im curious how other private schools manage this?
