I have the teachers review the plans during parents evening. They give an extended slot to parents of those children on the SEND register and parents also have an opportunity to book time with me if they wish. I have had a big push back to class teachers as they are the ones delivering the plans in the classroom. For my more complex children, I meet with their parents and the class teacher at a different time but that is only 3 or 4 meetings. It’s also worth looking at whether all those children need to be in the register. I have more than that on the register of a school I’m currently supporting in and will be going over each year group with the class teachers to find out what the child’s need is and whether provision is additional to and different from. I reckon there will be at least 50 children coming off the register.
