We book an IT room (or two), as we found that desktops (in our school) were more reliable than laptops, these rooms can be spaced out really well by using every other computer. The IT department set up specific log ins – SENWITH1, 2, 3 etc (for those with grammar and spellcheck) and SENWITHOUT (for use with Word Pad – no grammar or spellcheck). Internet access is barred on these accounts – no idea how IT do that but they do and it works as we catch students out trying to get onto YouTube all the time! Each ‘Log In’ has it’s own printer code (as do we all) so that the student and invigilator trot to the printer and print off the work to be signed off by the student.
