It’s very weird how all these titles put the onus on the child. Yes, our focus is learning but…well we don’t walk into a restaurant, get assessed and then get told ‘ ok well for you to have access to what we have to offer you on our menu, I’m afraid you have special needs here. Well have to train you on eating chillies so you can have equity in what you order ‘ 🤔 Shops say: what would you Like? We’ll bend over backwards to get you what you love. ‘
So perhaps it would be more respectful of the integrity of all children to have titles like: reading program developer, or additional resources developer. No?
