    As a secondary school we use the following for KS3 which may be applicable to your students as well:
    – sentence starters
    – structure for extended writing e.g. essays etc.
    – “formula” grids/checklists for what makes a piece of writing interesting e.g. punctuation to include, interesting adjectives, techniques etc.
    – dictation software or dictation to a scribe for those with a mismatch between verbal and written output
    – we also allow extra time to complete a task (e.g. completing at home / after school), completing in a separate room / with noise cancelling headphones etc.
