    Such an important topic, which I have been discussing today with a school SENDCo. My advice is always small steps and rewards based.
    The SENDCo is going to create a reward chart for the pupil and aim to get them in 3 mornings a week with a reward on a Friday to play with selected friends, which he loves.
    They are going to complete a visual timetable before or after the sessions they are in so they can be prepared for the next one and suggest bringing in a transitional object. Lots of therapeutic work when they are here and a consistent adult to meet & greet or check in on the phone if they don’t come.
    This is all after he is through the door though, which I understand is where the issues are currently. The resources above are something we are now going to try too so thank you.
