Congratualtions on the new position and hope it is going well in Hong Kong.
You need a monitoring and assessment process to follow the Plan, Review, Do cycle as outlined in the SEND Code of Practice, however schools in the UK do this in different ways – most that I work on a consulation basis with have stuck to the IEP concept, as a quality IEP provides evidence needed when applying for funding. Even though they follow roughly the same format as an IEP, they all call them something different though and put their own twist on them!!
As long as you have something that provides SMART child centred focused targets, impact driven interventions that are measured, and a review cycle, you will be in line with the UK.
