The BDA have a screener but it’s work heavy. Nessy is quicker.
Raven’s progressive matrices is a good all round tool you can use from Reception and gives you an understanding of whether a child’s non verbal reasoning and understanding of vocab are aligned, with standardised scoring, as so many literacy difficulties are related to language / DLD (2 in every class!) Which goes unnoticed as even community speech therapists are, in the main, more confident with identifying and working with speech sound production difficulties than language disorders.
