Raven’s progressive matrices is one I used a lot to compare verbal ability with pattern recognition, it’s designed to give a non-verbal vs verbal ability comparison and gives standardised scores.
What I’ve found in use is general learning affects non verbal scores and specific learning difficulty affects the vocab score.
I also noted anecdotally that pupils with strong ASD traits were often very strong – 90th percentile and above – on the non-verbal part of the test, with a huge gap in the verbal scores.
Repeating strings of digits forwards and in reverse is good for assessing working memory but I think the one I had with standardised scoring is out of date now but there may be something newer available as the poste above says Pearson clinical is a good source. Maybe talk to your EP too about what they’d recommend?
