    Leading on from Niki’s point, I would also make sure that all the conversations with the parents stress on the fact that your only interest is that the child gets what he/she needs, and that if this child has a neurodiversity, if they are not provided with the standard tools etc, the child will be ending up putting in an incredible amount of effort, to behave “normal”, and not only will they get no recognition for their efforts, they will probably be facing punishment/exclusion at various points in their school life, if their neurodiverse behaviour is not recognised and addressed.
    Parents can be dismissive of teachers helpfulness if they feel that the teachers are just trying to make their own lives easier. If you stress that this is just about the child, it may help to ease that.
