Yes, we have experienced the same. Parents have said the child was masking in school which is why we didn’t see the same difficulties. When I asked CAMHS for advice on this, they felt that ADHD was not possible to mask and therefore the presenting features need to be visible in two different settings. Our CPs won’t refer to CAMHS, they request school does it directly (presumably for the above reason but it puts us in a difficult situation with parents).
