I agree with Jenny above. I’ve also in this situation used assessments that highlight where the child sits on standardised measures eg of vocab, working memory, pattern recognition etc.
I would also go down the “I want to ask the experts, just to rule out xxxx…” and “We want your child to be happy at school and know we’re absolutely meeting their needs” and then get the EP in.
