You may have to pay £10 but well worth it. There is huge variation across the country, however many many examples of unlawful behaviour by LAs regarding EHCPs and unnecessary hoops to jump through.

Regardless of who makes the application work with the parents, discuss with them what info is likely to be shared, be honest about difficulties/ support and also be realistic about what you can offer.

The threshold for a needs assessment which is the first step is very low. No need for a new EP assessment. Remember low attainment doesn’t always = SEND.
