I have come across this where parents ‘shop’ around for a diagnosis and I would agree it isn’t ethical to do one within 6-12 months, but the most recent EP may not have realised one had been done previously. Some of the tests I use can be used again, with the alternative form within a short time frame, but I wouldn’t want to do that myself and perhaps your assessor has a valid point.
