Have you considered Pathological Demand Avoidance, a profile that some with autism have. The PDA Society website have many resources on their website, for educators too. These children can function well in school as they are very effective at masking, and unlike others with ASD can appear quite social on the surface., but do struggle to maintain friendships. The anxiety builds during the school day, and they explode once back at home- they’re safe space.
