When I was a SENCO I used to manage 25 TAs and would ensure all of them had the Autism Education Trust training (first two parts), safeguarding, TeamTeach for those who required it, Reading for Meaning, Lego Therapy and Dyslexia strategies training. Some additional training was provided by SALT and OT. I also delivered training on Spelling strategies and interventions (Cued-spelling, Spelling Window). One of my TAs became a dyslexia specialist by doing the BDA level 3 training.
