    But they ARE going there to play – presumably because their trauma interrupted their social and emotional development at this stage and the EP feels it necessary to repeat this stage of development. I would say it’s ok to tell the student and their peers that this needs to happen to help them to learn – we call it an invisible difference at our school e.g. we don’t think twice about someone with crutches / wheelchair being allowed to use the lift because we can see stairs are tricky for them, but sometimes people have differences we cant see and might need to use different coloured paper or books or have extra help at playtime. Could they take someone with them (with permission of their parents of course) to keep the social links with Y3 going?
