There’ll be someone in charge who likes it – I have been struggling to move people on from TEACCH and SITT to EQUALS for pupils on the Engagement Model. Clue’s in the name – Engagement… if it’s dog training & something they have to do before they can do what interests them it’s not engagement is it? The clever thing would be to use the schema of the favoured activity to do the teaching, not just get them to learn what order numicon 1-10 go in and call it counting.
