    If she’s not sensory seeking/avoiding in any other way and maybe shows no other traits of neurodiversity could this be discomfort on sitting which would be, to my mind, potentially safeguarding?

    If it was then referrals to rule out physical issues might be easier to make? I agree it’s hard to get a referral to an OT especially with something a bit off the wall like this. Do you have a school nurse service or CAMHS SCA? They can be helpful. CAMHS SCA in particular do an “informal” service where you just chat through the presentation & they give suggestions for next steps.

    I had a child wriggle right off her seat once, and it turned out to be a really awful infestation of thread worms.
