I have had one rejection in the past. What I have noted is that the LA keep claiming they need to be assessed internally (Thank you for the information Niki) but its true why should it matter who did the assessing, NHS / CAMHs have waiting lists over a year long, children are going unseen.
Back to the one rejection – I went back and revisited the presentation of the child in all four areas of need and had to go through the ADPR cycle, with monitoring of the targets and it was accepted in the end. The language you should use is geared more towards what you feel the child presents with, e.g. ASD/adhd and in your ADPR cycle use targets that work towards these and strategies that support children as if they had the diagnosis.
