We do have an effort grade as well, 1-4 with 1 being the highest. Only a very small percentage are awarded D and it’s school policy to meet with parents before the report goes out to discuss a potential D grade.
Thank you both for your input. Key stage leaders at the moment feel that this is fair as children are following the mainstream curriculum. I wonder if provision maps as a supplement to the report card could help with the disappointment of grades.
