At my school, all children study a MFL in Y7. In Y8 and Y9, students have the option to drop MFL and take extra English. This is run by English teachers and parents are asked for their consent. Most parents are very happy for this. I’m not sure if it should be down to the SENCo to fill that much curriculum time with LSAs, the students need to be with teachers really.
