I agree with the above posts. I would add that it may also be worth looking at any language needs too, as children with language needs simply may not have the cognitive abilities to understand the adult’s instructions and if they struggle with expressive language then they can communicate through their behaviours.
It’s so important to ensure they continue to want to try and have a go, so praising their effort rather than their input can be helpful and using specific praise so they understand exactly what you want to see more of from them.
