Hi Susan,
It is difficult but really important to support TAS. There are lots of ways to do this, I have a team of 16 TAs- here are some ideas of strategies that I use currently:
– daily team briefing means that everyone feels in touch and has the chance to ask questions too
– 15 minute 1:1s with each member of the team once a term – highly focused
– organise TAs into teams or partners and have regular ‘team meetings where they discuss and support each other with any issues
– a TA CPD programme
– a TA specific performance management system
