I’m new to SENCo post at a two-form entry with just over 400 pupils. We have 12 EHCP and 85 SEN support pupils. Head did SENCo role recently due as an emergency measure due to absence.

I’ve been tasked with analysing the register to investigate whether IEP targets match with pupils needs and whether there are pupils on register who no longer need to be (or should been in first place). I’ve started with EHCP as clear expectations for outcomes from plans. However, I’ve no idea how to swiftly canvass the remainder of the SEN register. We are due Ofsted any day!

Any thoughts, guidance or feedback be much appreciated – I am overwhelmed with the volume of the register.
