Hi, what OS are your laptops working on? If they are Windows OS, you should be able to use WordPad, which operates similarly to Word, so would be easy for candidates to use, It does not have the spelling and grammar features that may have to be switched off in Word and you do not have to be online to use it.

The only drawback will be that JCQ require information (such as Centre number, candidate number, etc.) to be inserted in a header or footer. WordPad does not provide the possibility of creating a header or footer. It would be wise to check with JCQ, but I would think that you could address this by copying a candidate’s work into a Word document where the necessary information could be added in a header or footer.
