Hi, commercial interest declared, but I work for Crick Software and we make a student-friendly word processor called DocsPlus (www.cricksoft.com/DocsPlus) which has an Exam Mode that enables it to be used in place of human scribes and readers in exams. It can be used offline and you can set user profiles depending on which particular support tools a student is entitled to use.
