This is so tricky. Are you able to contact the parents and establish whether you are parental preference? I think if you are, then it will be very difficult to have any change agreed or considered. I would outline to parents what your concerns are to ensure they are clear about limitations. If you’re not parental preference, then they should be contacting SENDIASS/IPSEA to appeal setting.

You may just have to accept the child, put in place what support you can (keeping very good costed provision maps and SEN Support plans) and convene an EAR before half term which demonstrates how you can’t meet Section F within your setting – it is the LAs statutory duty to secure Section F, not the school’s.
