I am interested that this discussion has not included anything about the consequences for a child of inclusion on the SEND register. Alerting teachers to a child’s condition has been mentioned, but nothing about action that would follow inclusion on the register. Allocation of additional resources? Regular review of progress? IEP?

Given criticism from some sources about the number of students registered as SEN having increased over recent years, does the inclusion of individuals on the register have any consequences for the school?
