It usually starts in childhood, but some people may develop it later. The symptoms may include:

Easy distraction by background noise
Inability to recall the order of sounds in a word
Inability to differentiate two distinct sounds
Inability to read and spell
Inability to learn and follow instructions
Slow processing of thoughts

Support from TA or if not possible the teacher ( regular checks to see that student is engaged). this can be done through questioning or even repetition of instruction more than once and maybe in different ways. Visual instructions on board as follow up. Instructions given in steps and small steps both verbal and visual.
Time to process each step.
Headphones for background noise and closer to teacher or TA so not easily distracted.
