Congratulations on your new job! What age group are you working with? I always think an effective whole school referral process is important, making referrals more manageable to assess and prioritise those students with the greatest need. Also, get to know the parents early, I introduced coffee and cake afternoons, with a meet and greet the team. Offer CPD regularly to staff. This can be group, 1 to 1, or sending out handouts/emails. Adopt a noticeboard in the staff room if possible. Finally, collect evidence, and keep it well organised, and accessible in the event of an inspection.
