Hi Paula, it is not clear to me, are you the SENCO? Best advice is talk to your line manager, and team, and try to get the idea raised as a joint idea. In my experience, schools have varying ideas/agendas in relation to SEND, and whilst it is a requirement, enforcing it as your own suggestion weirdly seems to upset the people who should have been abiding by it in the first place! Talk to individual teachers, and explain that observations of the student are part of evidence collection, and history of need. As you may know, without this, they may not receive the provision or exam access arrangements that they deserve. Good luck!
