I have had experience of this, especially with students diagnosed with ASD and or ADHD with genuine sensory difficulties. Usually it was to have the uniform shirt untucked or to be allowed to not wear the blazer. I impressed upon SLT that regardless of the policy, reasonable adjustments had to be made. Particularly for a student with severe eczema and could not wear the traditional uniform due to the irritation from the fabric. They were receptive to this. It is case by case with professional guidance to support the recommendation.
