Double check the JCQ AA&RA booklet, but I’m pretty sure you don’t need the diagnosis info to be within a certain date, if there’s an EHCP and diagnosis including reference to the need for ET/scr/reader, etc. It’s not the same rule as the AA assessment ‘no earlier than Y9’ bit. W/o EHCP is covered in the guidance but I’ve not needed that bit before, so do check. We assess all our pupils who don’t have EHCP (PRU – often full paperwork/diagnosis isn’t sent along with the child…); we assess some who do have EHCP, but AA reqs/needs aren’t referenced clearly enough for us to be sure they meet criteria. Can’t believe you’d need a new one, though – EP appts are like hen’s teeth!
